Saying too much.

When you turn 18 you always want something really special to happen. Like a surprise party for example. This is the one that you REALLY didn't see coming, and you will remember for the rest of your life. All of your best friends are there, the food and cakes are amazing, and your mom brought your favorite dress, the perfect one for this special night, so you can wear that throughout the whole night. And when you get kids you can show them the dress from your favorite birthday party, the huge supriseparty you got from your best friends when you turned 18. And in the back of your head you know that this is something you are going to do for your kids once they turn 18.

Of course it is important to note that this plan, and your life story will change if someone spoils your surprise party. Someone ALWAYS has to say too much.

It was all going well. We were planning the surprise party for Ashley and everything was going after the plan. We, her four best friends Tasha, Hannah, Jenna and Julia, had made an "invitation" on facebook, with dress code, what to bring and where when and how long. (Then again it is important to mention that the last one is never something you really can plan). Everything started out really well. In lunch we found the location, we figured out the theme and after 2 weeks of planning everything was going like a train on tracks in 100 mph. (Now enough with the Hannah Montana like metaphors). The night was finally here, and the only thing that was missing now was Ashley. Jenna had the honor of bringing the birthday girl to the location. Her only job for this night was to shut up about the party for ten minutes while they were driving in the car. So, they were on their way to the party, everything was going smooth. The location was Ashley's mom workplace. She worked at a restaurant, and in the basement there was a club, which they decorated with lots of pink decorations, glitter, cool lighting and an amazing DJ they had been extremely lucky with getting the honor to have there that night.
Now, the plan was to tell Ashely that she and Jenna was on their way to meet up the rest of the girls for dinner that nigh, and a movie afterward, but then her mom needed something from home broght to her work. Something she supposedly had forgotten that morning. Sweet as Ashely is she completely believed her 100% and offered to drive over with it before they left for dinner. When they finally came to the location they both jumped out of the car, both exited for what was going to happen, one for the surprise and the happy face on her best friends face that soon was going to show, at the other, for a girls night out.

As mentioned they jumped out of the car, headed towards the door, and were just randomly talking. This is when it happened:
Ashley: I;m so exited for tonight, were going to have so much fun! OMG I can't believe I'm 18!
Jenna: Yeah, I know! Just act surprised, we have spend a lot of time on this thing!
Ashley: What?

In that moment Jenna knew she had said too much. She looked down, thinking that she was going to be murdered by her friends, because they had probably heard the whole thing because the building was empty of costumers and the whole place was dead-quiet. She started calling on Ashely's mom (which was the next stage of the plan. Even though this was supposed to be what Ashley was going to do. Her mom just followed the plan and said that she was downstairs. this was their plan for leading them down to the basement without any suspicions. They started walking down the stair. Ashley had a bit of a worried expression on her face, because she was trying to figure out what her friend meant by saying what she just said? When they came down stairs everyone was looking forward to see Ashely's expression when she saw that all of her friends where there to celebrate the day with her. But it didn't quite go that way.

Everyone jumped up, turned on the light, threw glitter up in the air and screamed out "SURPRISE!". Unfortunately her expression was not what they had hoped for. Her eyebrows were cramped together. her mouth wide open, her body stiff and her arms just hanging down. Not the jumping and screaming girl they had hoped for. But after a few seconds of silence Ashley pulled it together and added to plus two and understood what her friend had meant by what she said earlier. "Ooohhh! You guys!!" Ashely said and got tears in her eyes. Everyone screamed cause all in all it did turn out well. All of her friends came and hugged her and they had an amazing birthday party.

Even though this time it turned out well, it will not always tun out this good. Jenna has always thought about what she is saying before she actually says it after that night. She does not wanna spoil anything ever again!
